Who we are
Toldby (gettoldby.com) is a post-purchase survey app for Shopify merchants. The app is not yet live on the Shopify App Store; this policy covers this website today and states the principles the app is being built on. It will be expanded with full app-specific terms at launch.
What this website collects
- Waitlist email.If you join the early-access list, we store the email address you submit and a tag for which page you signed up from. We use it for one purpose: telling you about Toldby's launch and early access. No purchased lists, no sharing with third parties for their marketing.
- Anonymous usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites. We see aggregate page views, not identified visitors.
This site sets no advertising trackers and no cross-site cookies.
Who processes it
- Formspree receives and stores waitlist form submissions.
- Vercel hosts this website and provides its analytics.
The Toldby app (at launch)
The app is being built on these commitments, which will carry into the full policy when it ships:
- Your customers' answers belong to your store. Survey responses are your data — exportable any time, never sold, and never used to build advertising profiles.
- Minimum Shopify permissions. The app requests only the access scopes it needs to attach survey answers to orders.
- Deletion honored.Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks are implemented, so customer and shop data-deletion requests are carried out automatically.
- AI processing stays yours.Open-text answers are summarized to produce your store's insights — they are not used to train models and are not shared across stores.
